About Me

Hi, My name is Zemetria Barnes. For the past 25 years in the industry, I’ve helped clients create beautiful designed elements, that I like to call art! I’m passionate about typography and the way it brings life to a page. It is an art form in itself. And when you think of designed letters added to plain text, it can be transformed into something beautiful with a profound message that grabs the viewers attention.

Having started my career in editorial design, I’ve learned how to coordinate photo shoots from models to location selection. I’ve had the opportunity to art direct and stage interior homes for Indianapolis Home magazine. I became Art Director of the ancillary publications and Deputy Art Director of Indianapolis Monthly magazine. Designing the Menu Guide, I became fascinated with the world of food styling.

I started my illustration experience designing for USA Gymnastics publications. Having a limited budget and resources for imagery, I took a jab at creating illustrations, they turned out pretty well, I might add.

Wanting to step out of the editorial world, I landed a fabulous job at Eskenazi Health Hospital. There, I had my hands into a wide range of design projects. To name a few, I’ve designed logos, mailers, newsletters, t-shirt graphics, annual reports, invitations, menus, web graphics, ad campaigns, brochures, billboards, vehicle wraps, banners and digital signage. After saying that in one breath, I love having the opportunity to take on many projects of all kinds, which allows me to utilize my experience and knowledge to create eye catching and amazing work.
